1. Is the visit and quote free?
Any serious company visits the site for free and provides a detailed quote at no cost. If they ask for money to visit or to provide a quote, that is a bad sign.
2. Is the quoted price fixed?

3. What warranty is offered on installation and product?
A professional installer's warranty should cover both the product (fibre and backing) and the installation. Minimum: 5-year product warranty, installation warranty with no time limit for obvious defects.
4. Can I see previous work?
An experienced installer has a portfolio of completed work and reference clients. If you cannot see real examples of their work, proceed with caution.
5. What type of base preparation is done?
The difference between an installation that lasts 5 years and one that lasts 15 often comes down to base preparation. Require: excavation, geotextile membrane, compacted gravel base and drainage sand layer. Installers who lay grass directly onto existing soil or concrete are significantly shortening the lifespan.
6. Do the products have European certification?
For children's spaces, always require EN 71 certification. For general outdoor use, check that the product has anti-UV treatment and is certified for outdoor use. Ask for product data sheets.
7. What is the completion time?
A professional installation of an average garden (30-80m²) typically takes 1 to 2 days. If the quoted timeframe is much longer or much shorter, ask for an explanation.
